At this moment in history General Eisenhower expresses my thoughts exactly! He says, "we should not take part in acting a lie any more than in telling a lie. We should not say that men are equal where they are not equal, nor proceed upon the assumption that there is an equality where it does not exist; but we should strive to bring about a measurable equality, at least to the extent of preventing the inequality which is due to force or fraud. Abraham Lincoln, a man of the plain people, blood of their blood, and bone of their bone, who all his life toiled and wrought and suffered for them, at the end died for them, who always strove to represent them, who would never tell an untruth to or for them, spoke of the doctrine of equality with his usual mixture of idealism and sound common sense." Abraham Lincoln said, “I think the authors of the Declaration of Independence intended to include all men, but they did not mean to declare all men equal in all respects. The

General MacArthur gave the last great speech of his public life on May 12, 1962, less than two years before he died. Beset by health problems, MacArthur had finally begun to show his age. No human being could fail to be deeply moved by such a tribute as this. [Thayer Award] Coming from a prof es

The earliest act of modern terrorism in recorded history, though averted, was in November 5, 1605, known as The Gunpowder Plot of 1605.It was also called the Gunpowder Treason Plot or the Jesuit Treason in earlier centuries. This was a failed assassination attempt against King James 1 of England by a group of provincial English Catholics led by Robert Catesby. The plan was to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of England’s Parliament on November 5,1605, as a

"The man dies in all those who in the face of tyranny and oppression keep silent." When Wole Soyinka uttered those words he was trying to rouse the masses to stand for their own human rights against the elite. My question is what do you do when the very masses turn on their ownselves? When the frustration with a judicial system that is slow to pronounce judgements and never ever justice causes men to lynch other men? What do you do when the down trodden walk on others? Who's fault is that? 40 or more students were killed on the evening of Nigeria's independence day. A day that otherwise should stand for renewing the promise of the founding fathers and taking stock of how much more work needs to be done. If the Mubi Massacre was carried out by a nameless group since the usual suspects-Boko Haram-did not claim ownership, then the extra-judicial killing of four students from the University of Port Harcourt was recorded on camera .
